The Glasgow and Clyde Valley regional economy provides a substantial contribution to Scotland’s economy, GVA and employment. The majority of those employed in the region live and work in the Clyde Valley. There are interdependencies across the region and the City Deal programme gives the area an unprecedented opportunity to build on these.
The City Deal consists of 20 proposed Infrastructure projects, each selected through economic modelling which took an initial 80 plus projects down to 40 and through a modelling exercise identified from a Glasgow and Clyde Valley regional perspective what delivered the best performing economic programme.
The programme will also contain 3 Employment and Skills projects and 3 Innovation projects. These are set out in Section 5.3 of this business case. The programme also has links to the individual and regional regeneration plans within a national planning context.
More information on the City Deal and Glasgow City Centre will be available soon.
