Glasgow Film Theatre, situated on Rose Street, hosts its regular Movie Memories, a classic and contemporary film event in a safe and social setting. The event presents a variety of film screenings designed especially for people experiencing early to mid-stages of dementia, their carers and/or families to socialise in a safe and welcoming environment. Alongside a programme of multi-arts entertainment, visitors can enjoy a wide range of films ranging from 1963’s The Pink Panther to A Kind of Seeing: Glasgow Life.
The screening is part of a wider event organised in collaboration with University College London’s research project, Remembering 1960s British Cinema-going. The project aims to encourage the sharing of memories of cinema going to build understanding and experience. In the GFT, the Glasgow project team invite members of the audience to share their own memories in a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere.
